Good Week

I had a good week at running, and job search. I got a call from Google. I have a lead at Microsoft and I’m having lunch with someone from Audience Science.

Then to top it all off, I had a really nice run this morning on a partly sunny and gorgeous day. Ran the BGT North to Inverness.

It’s So Damn Hard!

It’s been years that I’ve been running and cycling on and off.  I’ve found it incredibly hard to keep weight off.  With life as busy as it is, it’s also hard to maintain consistency.   But here I am trying again.  The hard part is not the exercise.  The hard part is the eating properly.  My wife was once a chef and she cooks really great food.  Not bad food, just really good food.  I guess if I keep up the running and eat normal portions I’ll get to my goal.  I’m 182 right now and I’d like to be 160 or 155 by mid summer.  Wish me luck.

I had this colleague in Seattle, who use to be in terrible shape.  I hadn’t seen in years, and one day I saw him at a social event and he had transformed himself. He was thin.  He looked great. His story was that he just started to get into running and cycling and the next thing you know he was really into it.  I’ve seen him running the Seattle Marathon at it’s toughest point and he didn’t stop and it was exciting to see him do it all.  I believe for his 40th he ran an ultra marathon.  It is an impressive story.

I’m going to use him for my motivation this time.   Thank you for your inspiration.  Any comments from the community are much appreciated.
